a lot of blessings to be thankful for

We were planning to go for a dip in the pool this evening unfortunately, the weather didn’t permit us.  It got so dark outside when we got home after running some errands.  There were dark gray clouds hanging over our area that hubby and I were thinking that it’s going to hail.  Honestly, I was thinking more on a scary tornado.  Thanks to the strong winds for they blew away all the cloud formation.  Praise God!

We had a hearty dinner of grilled Pampano fish and cucumber salad with rice.  Num, num, num – it was so good!  I am truly lucky that my hubby eats a lot of Filipino food and sea food, too.  So, I don’t usually have problems in making dinner because usually he will eat whatever food I make.  My hubby’s not being a picky eater is actually one of the things that I am always grateful for everyday.  Thank you, Lord for every blessing!

Well, each one of us has a thing or two to thank the Lord for our partners in life unique quality, right?  I hope all of us had a blessed weekend.  Have a good night all!

always have faith...

I just got done talking to my friend, Mary Jane on the phone.  She lives in Rock Springs, Wyoming.  She is six-month pregnant with her second baby.  She told me that she just had her regular check up this morning with her ob-gyn and they found out that the fetus inside her womb has no heart beat.  Oh gosh!  I was stupefied beyond words when I heard the news.

I truly feel so sorry for her and Brett.  They are really planning for this pregnancy this year.  I feel her pain but I don’t think I can fathom how painful this awful incident for her.  I can only pray for her and her husband that they will be able to surpass this yet, I know that they will.  Just hang on, Jane and Brett – everything’s going to be okay with Him.  Have faith always.

our New Zealand dream tour

Someday we really would like to visit New Zealand.  We have heard about the high quality of life there, imagine the vacation we could have. We have been finding out there is so many options for places to stay in New Zealand. Being a family of three, we are going to seek a family friendly accommodation if we decide to go there.

One of the many places we found about is the family accommodation in Christchurch. We really like the idea that these hotels in New Zealand are thinking of not only couples but families too. With all the activities to do there, it is a great idea that we won’t have to worry about places to stay with so many options available to us. In the capital city there are Auckland serviced apartments at our disposal for a great location close to all the activities a big city has to offer.

It might be a dream now but I’m hoping that we really get to go there in the future. Even Wellington sounds like a great place to go. With a serviced apartment accommodation in Wellington, we can count on the very best in a vacation as we have seen throughout New Zealand. We will pray for a bit of luck and God’s blessing in our world travel dreams.

evenful phone calls

 Image via: www.profile-graphics.net

Good Tuesday morning all!  I already had two phone calls this morning.  First off is from a long-time friend, Hermie who is lives in Colorado Springs.  I met her through Friendster and I have met her in person a couple of times already when we still lived up in the mountains.  I really thought that she got married already and moved to Texas for I have not heard from her for more than a year.  Her boyfriend by the way is from Texas.  That’s why I thought that she relocated already especially that when I tried to call her cell a year ago, the number was disconnected.  I am so happy to hear from her again and she is planning to visit me this week.

The second call is from Sharon Mae.  She invited me and Kate to go with her and Angie up in the mountains tomorrow.  I bet we will be doing some shopping at the Factory Outlet Store in Silverthorne while we are there.  Hmmm, I just wish I have lots of money for shopping otherwise, I will just contend myself with some window shopping.  Well, that’s fine with me, too.  For sure, it’s going to be fun tomorrow!  Have a good one all!

cheap health care insurance for you

Recently my husband ran into a situation where we are finding out how important good health care insurance is.  Health insurance is so important to him that he took a different job just because the insurance was better and the employer offered it for a reasonable price.  Better benefits are the driving force in job searchers these days.

Our daughter was born at 26 weeks and she has endured some health issues because of it.  We have grown to realize no matter how difficult it is to afford insurance that we have to endure the cost of it.  Even with all the billing problems that have been coming up for the past 4 years with our daughter, we realize that if it wasn’t for medical insurance we would be financially ruined for probably the rest of our lives.

We are just wishing the cost of health care going up would at least level off and the employers would provide better insurance options for families everywhere.  We always are hoping with the public awareness that insurance coverage will begin to become more affordable for everyone.  Health care coverage is always going to be a necessary part of life and in the future we will always pray for an affordable health care coverage for everyone.  Our children have to grow up and become adults; and I can’t help but ask:  “What will insurance coverage be like then?”

wishing for a weekend getaway

Hubby and I have been planning of going to the Archways National Park in Moab, Utah for how many weeks now.  We are thinking that we can go there one of these weekends.  The problem is something always comes up every weekend – parties, hubby’s work and all.  I am hoping that we can go there this Memorial Day Weekend since it will be a three-day off.  However, hubby is scheduled to work on that Saturday, arggghhh!

Oh well, there’s nothing we can do about it but to wait.  I know that somehow we can get there!  I am just so excited to see the amazing and beautiful rock formations there.  Hubby has been there many times for they used to do some extreme jeeping in Moab, Utah back then.  I had been to Moab, too but only for one night.  We stayed in a small hotel there on our way to Grand Canyon two years ago.  I have seen Archways National Park from afar and hubby said that he would bring me there next time.  I do hope that this next time would be pretty soon, with God’s blessings.

lovin' sports at home!

We enjoy sports in our home. Our family watches anything from racing to golf. Our favorite sports are base ball basket ball and foot ball.  We are always interested in what’s next for our local sports teams.  Our Denver Broncos for example have made so many changes this year.  That’s where I finally found a web site online called Doc’s Sports Service.  From current scores, information and online betting when you are feeling brave.

With all the information on Doc’s Sports Service, we can keep up with the most current research and odds for betting on our favorite teams.  It also offers a great trained staff with their subscription and the best agents to help with sports handicapping.  Your odds of winning are greatly increased with a winning team offered by this web site.  You can bet we will be using this service to add that extra excitement when we are watching our favorite team, win or lose. Next time our Broncos, Nuggets or Rockies play, we will bet on our winning teams in Colorado.

friends are blessings...

glitters

I was so glad that three of my girlfriends visited me and my bug today.  I always love it and feel so honored to have people go out of their way to come and see me here at home.  It always feels so good to have company around.  I just put it this way that when friends come in to your house, it means blessings are also entering your home.  This also goes to show that the host whom in this case is me has a good heart!  Hahaha, am I raising my own back?  Whatever, I am just so happy to have friends here in the foreign land.  I always consider them as BLESSINGS…  Thank you, girlfriends for the visit and for the friendship.

we need moisture for sure!

Beautiful Day Comments Sunny Day Comments For Myspace Orkut Friendster Hi5 Blogger 360 Multiply

It has been so dark and gloomy the past few days.  Mr. Weatherman said that there will be a lot of rain for this month which is good since we really need MOISTURE.  Hopefully, the moisture we can accumulate for this month would be enough for the long hot summer.  Woohhh, it is really hot in here during summer days but at least not as bad as the other states.

What makes it hotter here is that we are in high elevation.  We are that near to the blazing rays of the sun.  That’s why every household here can’t leave without sunscreen even during winter, we need sunscreen.  But from what I am hearing from the news, Colorado is still better during summer compared to other states.  Scorching heat or what, we are all ready for summer!

the color of a rose

glitters

In every special occasion of our life, we always receive a bouquet of flowers especially roses from our loved ones.  Oh, I just love roses especially the red ones.  How about you?  What color do you prefer best?  Do you know that each rose color has it own unique meaning?  Yes, the color by itself presents great opportunity to send a message along with the thoughtful gift.  Here are the color meanings:

Red Rose
This one is the most obvious. It means "I love you." It represents romance and love.

Deep Pink
This simply means "thank you". If someone you know does something nice for you, a deep pink rose is a good way of saying "thank you".

Regular Pink
A pink rose represents happiness. It's great to give a pink rose to a partner to say, "I'm very happy with our relationship."

Light Pink
A light pink rose means "sympathy". When someone has had a loss then light pink roses is a very nice way of expressing your condolences.

White Rose
A white rose symbolizes innocence and purity. When combined with red roses (see further down), it represents "unity".

Yellow Rose
A yellow rose symbolizes friendship and caring. It's the perfect innocent gift to give to a friend or give to a loved one when you simply want to say "I care". When given to a friend it also means "I'm happy with our friendship."

Lavender Rose
A lavender rose is a symbol of "falling in love". When you give it to a person you are saying "I have fallen in love with you and am enchanted by you."

Orange Rose
An orange rose is a symbol of desire. "I desire you" or "I desire to get to know you better" is the message that orange roses send.

Black Rose
Never ever give a woman a black rose, because
Hollywood has, unfortunately, made out the meaning to be "death". These aren't easy to find and some maintain that they don't actually "exist".

Blue Rose
A blue rose is very hard to reproduce or find, although some floral companies are trying to do it naturally. Others just dye them. To some a blue rose symbolizes "mystery" and to others "attaining the impossible". A blue rose given can symbolize the rarity of your partner. You have attained the impossible.

Mixture of White and Red Roses
When you deliver white and red roses together to someone, it is a symbol of unification and unity. "May we always be together as one."

Interesting, right?  Here’s one more thing:  If you want to be creative, you can combine some of the above roses to send several messages at once. For example, send lavender and orange roses to say that you are falling in love with the person and desire to know them even more. Provide yellow and pink roses combined to let a grieving friend know you care and are sorry for their hardship and loss.  Ain’t that something?  Hopefully, men can read this article so they will know which color of roses to buy for their women especially that mother’s day is just around the corner.  I am truly looking forward for this special occasion.  How about you?
